The MinorMatters e-learning platform is designed to facilitate
learning and literacy-building on the freedom of religion or belief (FoRB). The
platform provides short synchronous courses with weekly virtual lessons and
self-paced, asynchronous courses. The courses are catered for youth, civil
society representatives, media personnel and faith leaders, among others. The
platform also hosts regular webinars on matters concerning religious freedom in
Sri Lanka and comprises audio-visual learning content on FoRB.
MinorMatters is a national campaign dedicated to fostering religious harmony and protecting the freedom of religion or belief in Sri Lanka. The campaign supports efforts to advance reconciliation, counter religious extremism and promote national coexistence. In 2019, MinorMatters was a recipient of the Intercultural Innovation Award by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the BMW Group for its work to build a virtual museum integrated and e-Learning platform to promote FoRB in Sri Lanka.
